Seven Step Cares: MitoWalk a Big Success!

On Sunday, September 16, a team of Seven Step volunteers helped staff the 2012 MitoAction Energy Walk & 5K. MitoAction works to improve quality of life for patients and caregivers affected by mitochondrial disease. MitoAction makes strides in awareness and support through education, outreach and advocacy initiatives. The annual Energy Walk & 5K is an important (and fun!) facilitator of the organization's important work.

This year's walk was a great success. It was beautiful day in South Boston, and the turnout was great. Over 1,150 runners and walkers participated, and $130,000 was raised to support MitoAction's support, advocacy, and outreach programs! If you'd like to check out the full race results, please go here

Also, MitoAction is keeping donations and team pages open for another few weeks in honor of Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week. If you'd like to contribute to MitoAction's important work, you can do so here.

Thanks again to the crew from Seven Step Cares, along with all the other volunteers, the organizers, the walkers, the runners, and the many supporting team members for being part of a great, important day!
